The investigation run by the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT) is focusing on fire source.

Investigation Team Head for KNKT, Capt. Aldrine Dalimunte, said the fire came from the engine room. It is based on explanation of passengers.

Zahro Express Helmsman Named as a SuspectHe added that the boat was made in 2013 with one boat engine namely Nissan 500 mph.
According to him, the fire could came from other sources.
